A Tea Lover’s Guide to the City
Dubai is a city I visit often due to work commitments, and amidst the hustle and bustle, one thing that always brings me comfort is a good cup of chai. The city is brimming with chai spots, each offering its own unique flavours and experiences. Over the past month, I explored some of the best chai destinations, and here are my top three recommendations.
1. FiLLi Tea – Business Bay
FiLLi Tea has become synonymous with great chai in Dubai. With numerous outlets across the city, they’ve built a reputation for consistency. While they offer various chai options, their classic chai remains a personal favourite—smooth, flavorful, and perfectly brewed.
FiLLi’s charm extends beyond their tea; you can even purchase their loose chai leaves to recreate the magic at home. Pair your chai with snacks from their menu, and you’ve got yourself a moment of pure indulgence. FiLLi is my go-to spot for a reliably good chai experience whenever I’m in Dubai.
2. Noor Al Shams Cafeteria – Barsha
This unassuming gem came highly recommended by a local taxi driver, and I quickly understood why it’s a favourite among Dubai’s cabbies. The key to unlocking the magic of Noor Al Shams is to ask for their Fresh Milk Chai. Unlike their regular chai, this version is made to order and takes about five minutes to prepare. It’s a little wait, but the result is a cup of tea that’s rich, creamy, and absolutely worth it.
Parking can be tricky here, but the staff go the extra mile by offering curbside service and delivering your tea and snacks directly to your car. Their snack menu includes shawarma, burgers, and more, making it an excellent stop for a quick and satisfying bite. Noor Al Shams is a must-visit if you’re looking for authentic, no-frills chai.
3. Raju Omlet – Business Bay
Raju Omlet is a place I keep returning to, not just for its egg-centric menu. Their chai selection is impressive, featuring classics as well as saffron, ginger, and cardamom-infused variations. Each cup is freshly brewed, with its own distinct flavour and aroma.
The consistent quality and creativity of their teas make Raju Omlet stand out. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon tea break, their wide range of chai options ensures there’s something for everyone. The five-minute brewing time guarantees a fresh and flavorful cup every time.
Final Thoughts
Dubai’s chai culture is as dynamic as the city itself, offering a blend of traditional and modern flavours. FiLLi Tea delivers consistency, Noor Al Shams captivates with its authentic charm, and Raju Omlet impresses with variety and creativity.
For me, chai in Dubai is more than just a drink; it’s a comforting ritual that makes my frequent trips here all the more enjoyable. Do you have a favorite chai spot in Dubai? Let me know in the comments—I’m always on the lookout for my next tea adventure!
